What is Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library?

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library (DPIL) is a 60-volume set of books beginning with the children’s classic The Little Engine That Could. Each month, a new and carefully selected book will be mailed in your child’s name directly to your home. Best of all, it is a free gift; there is no cost or obligation to your family.

Who is eligible?

Children may receive the books from birth to age 5. Children must reside in Hancock, Harrison, Pearl River or Stone counties. The child must have a valid birthdate and address, and must be born to be eligible.

What are my responsibilities?

  1. Be a legal resident of Hancock, Harrison, Pearl River or Stone counties.
  2. Please be sure to keep any and all contact information up to date within the DPIL system.
  3. Read with your child.

When will I receive books?

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library mails out books to almost 2 million children a month. We must place our book orders a month in advance to do this. Depending on when you register your child, it may take up to eight to twelve weeks for the first book to arrive. After that, the books will come every month.
