Dolly Parton's Imagination Library

DOLLY PARTON’S IMAGINATION LIBRARY COMES TO SOUTH MISSISSIPPI!
United Way of South Mississippi has teamed up with the DPIL to provide books to children, thanks to the generous support of IP Casino, Resort and Spa. Our goal is to improve early childhood education by making sure kids have access to age appropriate books. From the time they are registered at birth until he/she is 5 years old, kids will receive 1 book a month. That is 60 books in 5 years - all free to South Mississippi children and families!

HOW DOES IT WORK?
It sounds almost too simple to be true, but reading regularly to a child before age 5 will give them the biggest boost toward a successful education.
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library helps families read to their children by making sure that there are books in the home. Each month, a new, carefully selected book is mailed directly to each child’s home. He/she can look forward to new and exciting reading adventures from Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library until her/she turns 5 years old, as long as they remain residents of Harrison, Hancock, Pearl River or Stone county.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
All children born after January 1, 2013 that are a legal resident of Harrison, Hancock, Pearl River or Stone County. As of Friday, July 11, we have 1,010 children receiving free books each month!
